Clara Zetkin (1857 - 1933) was a German Marxist theorist, Communist activist, and advocate for women's rights. Written this is a short collection of personal reminiscences about Lenin's views and actions. Lenin died on January 21, 1924 and the Zetkin's Foreword is dated January, 1924. She wrote, "I find it difficult to carry personal matters into public notice. But I feel it my duty to publish some extracts from the treasury of my personal recollections of our unforgettable leader and friend."

Although not noted in the book, it would appear that this book is a translation from the original German,as it is unlikely that Zetkin ever wrote in English. An English edition of 1929, published in England, is also listed in the Library of Congress.
