Debs's famous 1918 antiwar speech made in protest of World War I led to his conviction for wartime espionage. This volume concludes with Debs's letters from prison in Moundsville, West Virginia. The three volumes of Debs's correspondence contain more than 1,500 of the 10,000 extant letters to and from Debs during his controversial lifetime. J. Robert Constantine spent more than a dozen years compiling, editing, and annotating this collection.
